Day 1Arrival Lima

Transfer airport – hotel in Lima (PVT)
Upon arrival into Lima International Airport, you will be met by our representative and private driver and will be transferred to the selected hotel. Our representative will assist you with check-in procedures and provide you with a detailed itinerary, vouchers covering all the services included in your tour and additional information on the organization of your Peru trip. You will also receive a contact information sheet with all the hotel details as well as our offices contact information for each city and a 24-hour emergency number.

At the appropriate time, transfer to the Lima airport to board your flight to the city of Cusco.

City tour in Cusco (PVT)
This afternoon you will go on a private escorted sightseeing tour of the city of Cusco, archaeological capital of South America. Cusco also has the finest examples of Inca history and architecture. A visit of the city’s most important historical monuments, Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, the Koricancha Temple, and a visit to the surrounding ruins of the Kenko Amphitheater, Tambomachay, Puca Pucara, and Sacsayhuaman Fortress.

Day 3Cusco - Sacred Valley

Transfer Cusco – Sacred Valley – Cusco (PVT)
Full day excursion to Sacred Valley of the Incas. En route towards the Urubamba Valley, visit Awanacancha, an Andean textile center whose principal objective is to maintain the wealth of Incan textile art alive. Here you we will learn about the dyeing techniques and instruments used for hundreds of years in the weaving of these famous textiles.

Visit to Pisac ruins
Following this, visit the Pisac archeological complex, formed by a collection of remains of Incan dwellings, temples, and terracing, all of which combine perfectly with the majestic landscape of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Continue on to the Pisac Markets where you will have the chance to interact with the local folk and even barter with the merchants.

Visit to Ollantaytambo
After having lunch at a local countryside restaurant, end the day with a visit to the Incan fortress and citadel of Ollantaytambo. This fortress was constructed in order to guard the entrance to this part of the valley and protect it from possible invasions of tribes from the jungle lowlands, and was later the scene of Incan resistance in 1537, when Manco Inca’s forces faced Hernando Pizarro’s troops.

Day 4Sacred Valley - Machu Picchu - Cusco

Train Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes (SIC)
You will board for a dramatic train ride to Machu Picchu, the great mountain-top city abandoned by the Inca Empire.

Visit to Machu Picchu
The legendary ‘Lost City of Machu Picchu’ is without a doubt the one of the world’s most impressive archaeological sites. Built by the Incas on the summit of “Machu Picchu” (Old Peak), overlooking the deep canyon of the Urubamba river in a semi-tropical area 120 Km. (75 miles) from the city of Cuzco at 7,000 feet above sea level. It sits on a mountain site of extraordinary beauty, in the middle of a tropical mountain cloud forest; Machu Picchu was probably the most amazing urban creation of the Inca Empire at its height, with its giant walls, terraces and ramps, which appear as though they have been cut naturally in the continuous rock escarpments. Machu Picchu is also one of the Inca’s best kept secrets, since they did not left written records and Spanish chronicles make no mention of the citadel, it remains a mystery.

Half day City tour & Moon Valley
The City of La Paz and its surroundings can transport you to a mysterious past where any corner, any street, is a hidden treasure where adventure begins; a living history which treasures the pre-Hispanic times with all their traditions and magic rites on its streets. The indigenous, colonial and modern areas, Indian Market, Witch Doctor’s Market & breathtaking panoramas are all framed by the majestic “Illimani” mountain. After the city tour you will visit the Moon Valley, a clay formation resembling the face of the Moon.

Full Day Salt Flats and Fish Island
The largest salt flat on Earth, located on the Bolivian Andean Altiplano with 12.000 square Kms; the Bolivian Andes offer stunning sceneries which can be hardly matched. It has to be -a once in your life time journey-. The noise of silence makes the heart beat faster and the surreal pentagons of crystalline salt, the pure sky, the cacti and the flamingos, will certainly make you feel that there is not place like this in the whole world. At a distance this island has the shape of a fish. Its historical name is Inkahuasi. It is located at the center of the Uyuni salt pan. Nature has bestowed a singular type of flora on this place. The surface rocks contain fossils of marine algae. This is the largest island in the group that forms an isolated oasis-type ecosystem within the salt pan; the landscape against the background of the salt pans that extend to the horizon makes it an ideal place for photography fans.

Half day visit to Tiwanaku archaeological complex (PVT)
Tiwanaku culture, the magnificent ruins of Bolivia and one of the oldest civilizations in the Americas; the Sun Gate, the Temple of Kalasasaya and the Pyramid of Akapana are the sample of a glorious past. Tiwanaku culture was an agrarian based economy with an estimated population of 115.000 inhabitants. The state controlled agriculture produced the surplus wealth to support the urban centre and administrative system. They were outstanding in agriculture, hydraulic, architecture & medicine, as well as in social organization. Due to an economic crisis caused by a long dry season, Tiwanaku collapsed around 1.000 AD.

Day 9La Paz - Sun Island

Overland journey from your hotel in La Paz to Huatajata, located at the shores of Lake Titicaca.

Visit to Sun Island (PVT)
On arrival in Huatajata, visit the Andean Roots Eco Village: The Altiplano Museum; Handicrafts village, the Mud Igloos and the mortuary towers of the Urus Chipayas. Meet the Limachi family, builders of the RA II and Tigris for epic expeditions across the Atlantic Ocean. Enjoy our elegant vicuñas, llamas, alpacas and the mythical Suri.
Hydrofoil cruise to Moon Island, visit the Sun Virgins Temple “Iñak Uyu”. Continue to Sun Island, to visit the Pilcocaina Sun Temple.

Day 10Sun Island - Copacabana - Puno

The morning is at leisure. Around noon you will visit the Inca “Grand Stairs” and the Sacred Fountain; taste the water believed to give eternal youth and happiness. Then you will visit the small handicraft market. Hydrofoil cruise to Copacabana. Once in Copacabana, visit to the shrine and the Dark Indian Virgin”. Overland journey to your hotel in Puno.

Day 11Puno - Lake Titicaca - Puno

Full day tour Uros & Taquile Islands (PVT)
Early in the morning, you will have an unforgettable motorboat excursion on the waters of Lake Titicaca to the unique “Floating Islands” of the Uros. These ancient inhabitants of the Lake, known as the Water Tribe, have built their own “Islands” by periodically adding new layers of a type of reed unique to the area called “Totora” (Scirpus totora), vegetable fiber of the Papyrus family. We continue our motorboat trip to Taquile Island, inhabited by Quechua-speaking natives who have developed efficient and unique social systems, as well as fine hand weaving techniques, passed down through the generations.
In Taquile you will walk through the various hills and archaeological sites of this 6-km long Island. After this tour you will return to Puno for overnight.

Day 12Puno - Lima

Today you will be transfered to Juliaca Airport to board your flight back to Lima. On the way to the Airport, we will visit the famous Chullpas of Sillustani: stone cylinder burial chambers used by the Aymaras to bury their important leaders.

Day 13Departure Lima

Half day private tour Colonial & Modern Lima (PVT)
Enjoy a half day guided sightseeing tour to the most attractive and important sites in Lima, the “City of Kings”. The tour includes Lima’s Historical Center, passing by Plaza San Martin, Plaza Mayor, the Government Palace, the City Hall, the Cathedral and its Religious Art Museum. Finally visit the residential Districts of San Isidro and Miraflores, passing by the Huaca Pucllana, a Ceremonial and Administrative Centre of the Lima Culture built in the II Century A.C. that the Incas considered as “Ñaupallaqta” or Sacred Town. Also, visit El Olivar Park with olive trees brought from Spain in the XVth Century, the Central Park of Miraflores and Larcomar, a symbol of modern Lima and a tourist and entertainment centre as well as a privileged site to enjoy an amazing view of the Pacific Ocean.

Visit to Larco Hererra Museum
The visit continues with a stop at Larco Herrera Museum, for an excellent overview of Peru’s ancient past as it holds the best private collection of pre-Columbian art in the country. You will have the chance to tour through this old Hacienda House in the Pueblo Libre district, which was built upon a pre-Incan sacred site (huaca), housing the private collection of a great Peruvian scholar: Don Rafael Larco Hoyle. The museum chronologically exhibits hundreds of ceramic, textile, metal and precious stone pieces and also inside you will find the vault which safeguards precious pieces of gold and silver with semiprecious stones. Another attraction of the museum and of great interest to visitors is the exhibition of erotic pre-Colombian art.
